- Lavinia Ellen "Vinnie" Ream 1847-1914 was the first woman and youngest artist to be awarded a commission for a statue from Congress, the statue of Lincoln in the U.S. Capitol rotunda. She was given the statue commission in 1866 at the age of 18.
